What is Teller?

Teller is a lending protocol designed for earning yield on long-tail assets.

Each pool is isolated, with its own APY range.

Lenders deposit a single token and earn more of that same token, with no dual-asset exposure or risk of impermanent loss.

Where Does the Yield Come From?

The 22% APY is set as a base yield for each pool and is being paid as incentive rewards to bootstrap Teller on Base. You earn this yield automatically per block.

As organic borrowing increases, the APY will range between 22% and 60%, based on how much of the available liquidity is being borrowed at the time.

This additional yield is paid directly by borrowers when they repay their loans to the pool, at the time of each loan repayment, rather than per block.

How Does Teller Avoid Impermanent Loss?

Impermanent loss only happens in liquidity pools, where assets are constantly rebalanced based on market movements.

Teller, on the other hand, operates on a peer-to-pool lending model and doesn't use AMMs or traditional liquidity pools. Lenders supply assets, borrowers repay with interest, and there’s no automated rebalancing or price exposure.

This means your funds aren’t exposed to price shifts or impermanent loss and you keep earning yield on the same asset you deposited, regardless of market swings.

How Long Will the Reward Emissions Last?

Teller is bullish on Base and plans to continue offering 22% rewards until organic borrowing demand replaces the need for incentives.
